Capturing Real Stories

Pat’s photojournalism and column work is varied. Over the last decade much of his work has appeared in Patheos, Aquarius-Atlanta News, and 22nd Century Media as well as self published zines and a critically acclaimed novel (“Night Moves: An Ex Preacher’s Journey to Hell in a Taxi”) His clients include architects, models, artists, musicians, and business leaders.

Do you have a cause that matters? Are you a struggling model or musician that needs improved images and stories?

Let’s Connect to tell your story.

As a photojournalist and a visual artist, Pat not only understands that every picture can tell a story, but he also knows how to tell that story properly.

His job is not just to take great photos but to ensure the story shines in every image. Your story.

Artistically, his work has appeared in galleries throughout the Chicago area in venues including Flower of Life Gallery, Aurora’s ArtBar, and the Metro in Chicago. Pat’s work hangs in private collections across the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, the Caribbean and France.

Pat’s inspirations come from the greats in street photography, OP/Ed journalism, and film noir. Not one to follow trends, his pictures are timeless because they are not beholden to any trend.

My Story

Pat Green

I am a 3rd generation photographer raising a fourth. My father was an award-winning photographer who worked for prestigious organizations like the Chicago Tribune and Marshall Field’s. When I was 13, he bought me my first camera and showed me how to use it and develop film. A new world opened up to me.

Over the decades, I have shot for newspapers, magazines, portrait studios and online publications. My commercial work has been featured in ad campaigns, logos, websites, and many other spaces.

Though I am trained in many disciplines, my focus (pun intended) in certification and education has been photojournalism, documentary, black and white, and portrait photography. Stories are important and need to be told well. Life moves fast and freezing a moment in time is my passion.

Besides being a dad, I am very proud of my affiliations. I’m a member in good standing with the National Press Photographers Association. This association has high ethical standards to which I adhere. Telling stories comes with responsibility.

It is an honor to photograph humanity and nature, and I am grateful for every moment I have captured.

My writing and my photography is an extension of me as opposed to a mere vocation. I am an advocate and an ally. The stories of the underrepresented need a voice. I am not their voice; I document their voice.

A Mention of Mental Health

Above you’ll notice a gold figure and quote from artist singer songwriter Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries. The gold figure is a tribute to her. She was a hero, for she was honest in her struggles with mental health. Having struggled with mental health and PTSD, her words struck a chord with me.
